Port MacQuarie Lions Club delivers the goods

First prize, a Hyundai car, was won by Rachael Verdejo.

Mr Elford said it was fitting that both winning tickets were sold here, as Port Macquarie Lions Club and the local community had put so much into supporting the work of the Save Sight Foundation. He also thanked local Hyundai dealer, Andrew Miedecke Motors, for providing a display vehicle to help the Club sell so many tickets. More of Port Maquarie Efforts

PORT MACQUARIE LIONS PRESENT PRIZES

Port Macquarie Lions recently presented two lucky locals with their prizes from a state-wide

raffle. The Club sold over 8,000 raffle tickets to raise money for the Lions Save Sight

Foundation.

Mrs Sheila Whittaker, of Parklands Village, won third prize, a jade necklace worth $500. Mrs

Helen James, of Lake Cathie, won fourth prize, a watch worth $300.

Both Mrs Whittaker and Mrs James were thrilled at their win, and personally received their

prizes from Save Sight Foundation Director, Chris Elford, and Port Macquarie Lions Club

President, Ray Chesher.

Mr Elford said that last year, Port Macquarie Lions sold the winning ticket, for a new car, and

the second placed ticket as well. He said that remarkably, the Club had sold the tickets for all

four major prizes in such a popular raffle, in two consecutive years. The raffle this year raised

over $74,000 for the Lions Save Sight Foundation. He thanked the local community, and Port

Macquarie Lions Club, for their continued support. Mr Elford also had a special thanks to local

Hyundai dealer, Andrew Miedecke Motors, for providing a display vehicle to help the Club sell

so many tickets.
